This monument-museum commemorates the derailment of a railway convoy belonging to Batista's army by Che's rebel troops on 29 December 1958. The artistic conception of the monument is by José Delarra, who tried to represent the different actions of the rebel platoon through five sculptural elements. It is also made up of four original wagons with photos, plans, sketches of the guerrilla positions and an old bulldozer; of transcendental importance in the liberating deed.
